Smallest and earliest YOY ive found yet… usually find them in late june/july twice this size every year. Found 2 different groups in 2 different feeder creeks of my main creek i fish. 2nd group was only around 2” but had numbers of 50-60 fry. Got lucky and pretty much picked this guy right up 😂… always love seeing future generations being made in my home turf. Esox Lucius will always be my favorite species of fish. Spawn was around last week of Feb, 1st week of March so id say there 1-2months old range. One of these years im hoping to find an albino or color morph 💀🤞

That's awesome to know the pike are spawning like that. Nice looking little pike.

Agreed, love catching their parents 😂… new life always puts a smile on my face tho. Its cool to find them in the same spots every year. There usually around 6-8” by December.

Nice! I grew up on a smallholding and at the bottom of our field was a lodge which had a nice head of pike in. They would spawn every spring and the margins would then be full of these little guys. I used to love watching them stalking sticklebacks in the margins. They had a real turn of speed even at that size.

They were quite easy to catch on little worms. Sadly, only a handful would make it past the 12" mark as other pike, and large perch, would pick them off. Happy memories.
