Hey folks,

I recently got a hold of resun mpq 903 dc pump, which is 12v 35w. I’ve used 12v 4amp AC/dc adaptor with no luck. I used 12v 3amp AC/dc adaptor, same thing.

has anyone used this airpump successfully with adaptor or with any other ways on AC line. I really don’t want to spend a fortune on batteries.

TIA

What do you mean no luck? The 4 amp should have been sufficient, unless you connected it the wrong polarity or something is broken a 12v 3amp or better should work.

I’ve tried 12v 3amp aswell. It’s struggling to run with 3amp, sounds like trying. I’ve checked polarity and it’s correct way.
I’ve heard from some people that this particular brand is little tricky to use. Everyone that’ve used have used either on battery or solar powered. Unfortunately I won’t be able to do any of those.
I asked suggestions on engineering page, they’ve suggested to use a power supply or a bigger amp adaptor. I am gonna try those and see if it works.

Could be I suppose that the voltage of the 3 amp is dropping under load, the 4 amp should be better, but cheap power supplies are frequently over rated. Easy to check with a multimeter.

You could try running it off a car battery, that will be higher that 12v probably around 13.8. But that's commonly the voltage expected when a device says "12v"

I am going to try something that was suggested in ask engineer subreddit. The adaptor was pretty high on the line, paid $64.
Still need to find that power supply, here in Australia that brand that was suggested is a tad bit hard to find. I've found suppliers so hopefully it'll be over soon. 🤞
