Safety of long term exposure of fish to bti mosquito larvicide

I live in a region where dengue is prevalent and am thinking of adding bti larvicide to my aquarium water to eliminate the risk of mosquitoes.

My understanding is that bti is regarded as safe and only targets mosquitoes.

May I know if anyone has long term experience of using this within their aquarium?

I live in a mosquito area. I have previously had dengue. (Would not recommend it.)

Mosquito larvae will not survive a fish tank. The fish eat them! I used to buy mosquito larvae to feed to my fish.

You do not need to treat your aquariums.

I too had dengue recently. 10/10 agreed that its a horrible experience

my concern is in the filtration compartments where fish do not live and not in the main tanks

I have got sumps under all my tanks. Never had a mosquito. So long as the water keeps moving.

I know you are worried, but I do not think it is an issue.

My tanks are ios setups, with overflow filters at the side. The overflows are exposed, and I will observe how it goes. I will ideally not want to use any insecticides just like yourself. May I ask if youe sumps are exposed or enclosed?

Apparently where I'm from, bti is even placed in drinking water, not sure if it is removed or otherwise treated before consumption...

My kidneys and liver were screwed for 2 months, but thankfully I've recovered.

Two sumps are fully exposed, one is loosely enclosed, but any self respecting mosquito could get it.

Where are you?
