Hi guys I'm wondering if there is anyway to motivate the pseudopimelodus bufonius to come out in the day and eat. My old one which passed away at 8 inches had no problem with coming out in the day and eating but this one seems to need a bit of extra help(because the oscars usually get everything first), any thoughts?

Rocks or half pipes against the front of the glass are the best way to see this fish. In my experience finding one happy to come out of hiding in daylight or tank light is rare. So feeding in complete darkness or watching with a red light Is often needed.
That's disappointing 😞 thought he would come out in the day to eat like my other one.

If your tank was found to be ideally suited to the first one you may be very lucky to find the second feels the same way. I just doubt it, it’s not really who they are, it’s not in their nature.
He did come out once when he was in the 30 gallon with the blue Accra growing out to eat shrimp maybe because I moved him into a larger tank with 2 8 inch oscars.

If the move was recent, the fish may still be disturbed. Give it some time.
