Our chocs look about the same size, but your sev is probably twice the size of mine. Does you choc bother the sev at all, maybe a casual chase once in a while, or nothing at all?nice! Wispa looks esp awesome in your pic. Great names!
Yes. The Choc will harass the others a bit. Every once in a while the L200 or the Sev will have a torn fin but only small damage. Mostly they just hang out together. Our chocs look about the same size, but your sev is probably twice the size of mine. My choc will chase the little sev on occasion, sometimes it can last a while, and then it'll stop. I don't want my little sev to become stressed at all.
Hey David! Thanks! He’s a great easy fish to care for if a bit of a brute towards his tank mates.Hey Ben, long time no see. Fish is looking great! That is quite the head growth.
Nice looking fish! Yeah I remember him being a lot like Chewy. I have had the same thought about pairing mine off early on.Chewy could be the twin of mine, lol. Mine's got a fair old head on it too. I believe the "hump" is slightly different between male and female. I know for a fact mine is a female as she's laid eggs in the past.
The name chocolate cichlid would suggest to me that brown, or tones of, is the primary colour of these fish. And mine is certainly that! It is very rare nowadays that I see the beautiful rustic autumn colours that used to wash over her when she was younger.
My big regret is not establishing a pair of these. The colours would have been so much better.
