I also have a smaller hygger on a nano that's been running great for maybe 6 months as well.

I think heaters like the Hygger are best because their digital display tells you what they are sensing. I have one on an Inkbird and can tell if one of the sensors has started to report colder waters than reality.
I have a hygger similar to above but looks like they don't make my exact heater anymore. Had it for 2 years with no problems. mine has an external controller but awhile back I read too many posts about people having heaters fail on. I'm not sure how the integrated external controller compares to an inkbird or independant controller. I got nervous and bought an inkbird to plug this heater into which is probably unnecessary but more aof a belt and suspenders approach, and I have peace of mind.
The Inkbird (or equivalent) is the way to go because I believe the Hygger still only has one thermal sensor which could fail. It also isn't the best to have the sensor right next to the heating element, especially if it's in the sump. My Inkbird sensor is right before the overflow and it is a different reading that the heater which is right before the return pumps.
I don't run a sump so the heateris just in the tank, but even before the inkbird I always kept another thermometer in the water to double check against the hygger controller. They were never more than a degree off each other, but 1 unit with 2 years experience is hardly a wide data set lol
