My flowerhorn faded suddenly and the kok shrunk but kok is getting back but the colour is faded.He is active and taking pellets and not stressed.Is he a fader? If so what colour it would turn into ?henos nearly 2 inch now.sorry for the pics.Help out on this .
He was most likely fed hormones for color and kok development. When the hormones are stopped the color fades and kok shrinks 
I cannot answer that difinitively mate. What I can tell you is that hormones will enhance the fish’s color, and often create mature coloration in juvenile fish. Hormones don’t create color pigment, but activate & enhance pigment that is already present.
All that to say, as you continue to feed your fish high quality foods and provide lots of clean water, you can anticipate the natural development of color and shape that was produced artificially by the hormones.
