help on jg val placement

as the title suggests, have no idea where i should shove these last large bunches of jg val, i put them in the middle for the time being.

any suggestions appreciated!

Those are nice lights! I’d be wary of putting the Val anywhere up front as they will eventually block your view. I used to have a tank with val on either ends which grew so long that they draped towards center and looked really nice. They formed a “tunnel” of open space in the center. You could also start planting them along the back since you already have some on the ends.

yeah i mentioned that those were the val i needed move around, they’re just there for placeholder as i dont want my forest to be too condensed. i tried that tunnel thing before but i can’t quite get my water flow to move where i want it to

Also saw a cool tank where the guy just planted a mass in the center that draped outwards as they grew. Looked nice.

Maybe you should just add to the ends or line the back?

Nice tank. My experience with jungle val is that in a few months your whole tank will be overtaken with it, especially if your substrate is nice and mature and holds all the nutrients which this hungry root feeder requires.

The last thing you'll be thinking about is placement of little clumps for a nice balanced look. You'll be too busy cutting the stuff back!

If I was you, and knowing what's coming, I'd enjoy that beautiful tank as it is and ready yourself for jungle warfare, lol.

I agree with above, if conditions are right soon the vals will take over the whole tank.
This is a 40b, I started with 5 jungle vals. The same number of stem plants, and 3 Amazon Swords.
And same tank six months later

I then took out all the plants. Dumped all non vals and tossed half the vals and replanted
For reference that is a shower curtain folded in half under the plants.

Some of the Vals I took out were over 6ft in length.
