I’ve got a Goliath tigerfish, about 7 inches long. It was a massive community tank with other tigerfish, yes I know there’s a lot of variability with attacks and such. All were peaceful until I found my smaller tigerfish belly up but still breathing. I’ve been treating him with salt baths in separate container, as well as some meds in that water. When he’s not in the bath he’s in a different recovery tank in a net. It’s been about 48 hours in this state now. Is there anything I’m able to do to save this tigerfish? Water parameters are on point by the way even before this happened, regular water changes always. It’s clear he was bullied as a piece of his fin was bitten.IMG_3336.jpeg

Welcome aboard
I've learned that african tiger fish are fragile during shipping. The way it looks upside down in the pic I personally don't have a answer. Hope it makes a recovery.

I’d recommend trying not to let the fish flip onto its back. It’s better to support it with something to keep it in a normal position.

Any idea on how I could keep it upright, I was going to attach something to the dorsal fin like styrofoam, but it’s top fin isn’t hard, it’s flimsy

Goliath is still alive, day 3. It has the same kinda fight in it as if it were in a fresh state. But it has the white fluff outside of the body and red marks around its fins

Place some loose padding as shown in the video, give it strong aeration, and just wait for it to recover. If any signs of infection start, treat it accordingly and consider adding medication at the correct dosage. I hope your fish recovers well—good luck!

Are you sure you didn’t add too much salt? You should only add 1 gram of salt per 1 liter of water to maintain the balance. As for other medications, you shouldn't add them unless there are symptoms. Of course, if your fish starts showing signs of infection, treat it with the appropriate antibiotics at the right dosage.
