Getting tired of my cheapo set up, just wondering if anyone can give me advice on a high quality PH controller and probe brand. Just getting tired of replacing probes fizzing out. Is there any probes that are fully submerged I can place in the sump or low in a tank to avoid having to cap every WC. I’m currently using “UP” cheap Chinese crap that is all that is available at my LFS. And I’m not sure what will be a quality replacement that is not just another cheap Chinese crap.

A really nice one that does far more than just monitor pH would be a Neptune Apex. Reef hobbyists use them quite a bit to monitor all sorts of variables like kh, orp, co2, temp, and even control lights, water changes, etc.

If you needed to monitor more than just pH, it might be worth it. However, if you’re just monitoring pH, it’s overkill. Try to get glass or plastic probes…avoid the metal ones as those fall apart over time.

My question would be why you need to monitor pH consistently?

maybe the inclusion of natural woods? i know Ryan collects woods to put in his tanks so maybe it's a way to safely measure the ph drop from tannins?
my tank's ph only drops a little due to the wood in the tank but overtime it can build up, it could save him from many hassles and help identify when to wc for ph imbalances

I just use ph test kits from API but water probers for all parameters seems nifty, no knowledge on that from me though

Oh it’s for my 2 planted tank, one has a CO2 diffuser the other a CO2 reactor.
