will shovelnose eat pellets

hi all , i am planning to get a shovelnose catfish 12" in size to my monster tank , shopkeeper is feeding him goldfish since it was 5" and i want to make it eat pellets will it be possible to make it eat pellets after eating live fishes for so long and how do i make it eat pellets ?, i have 18" silver aro, 8" oscars, 12" clown knife, 6" blood parrots these all eat pellets in the tank.

You are going to be in for a ride. the main thing is going to be patience and get it on a routine it may take a month or more for him to accept pellets but don't fret and don't give up and stick to your guns.
Maybe start with frozen stuffed with pellets shrimp, taplia, all stuffed with pellets.

I assume you are referring to a lima shovelnose catfish or a TSN? It'd not be easy to get either to take prepared feed. You will likely have to train your catfish by tricking it, e.g., by giving new feed the smell of the old feed, or by tongues training.
