Smallest Pleco for 18 inch aro?

I want to keep smaller exotic Plecos that grow to only 6 inches. Would that be too small for an 18 inch Asian Aro ( and growing). Can I only keep common and Sailfin Plecos?

Curious as other experiences ?

They will do fine ... until they get picked off.

Yeah you're right. I tried, and literally 5 minutes, the Aro had it in it's mouth. Good thing it wasn't able to swallow it and I was able to remove it. Back to Sailfin/common plecos... I'm still hoping once the plants grow in, I can keep a few fast moving microfish. So far, the 2 SAE's have survived 2 months...
