Hey I see this is the only some what helpful resource on what I’m specifically dealing with on my arapaima he just developed gas bubbles on his head I don’t have any water falls should I just aerat the water some more ? My out put from my filters are out of the water they’re not submerged should I add aquarium salt ? And lower the temperature the temperature is sitting at 85 and just recently had to treat copper as the gar in it did have gold dust disease please help

It’s a temporary set up I’m in the process of of building a pond right now but this just happened out of no where will he pass it on his own I also read that a vet can aspirate them he’s still eating and response is fine

The setup looks good. I would double-check all your plumbing and fittings going into the tank. Somehow, your water is getting saturated with too much dissolved oxygen, perhaps you have a small crack or hole in the plumbing that is causing a venturi-like effect pulling in outside air. I would not attempt do aspirate, Pima's do not do well with stress and this could likely kill the fish.

hes been good for couple of months in here now seems like it just happened over night all of the plumbing is good and I have none of my return hoses in contact with the water how long did yours take to pass the gasses ?
