At what size do delhezi bichirs grow in width?

Hey guys I got my delhezi in September and he has grown nearly 4 inches since then (purchased at 2 inches). I was just wondering at what size they grow in width, I want to add him with my oscars but I'm scared he will eat the bichir.

My delhezi bichir had a girth of around 3 inches when it was fully mature. Unfortunately it passed a few years ago.

Up to 6-8 inches mine was mostly growing in length, but now has started packing on width. Probably about 9 inches long and 1.5 inches wide now.

Mine is a bit slower to get food compared to my senegal bichir so it might take him a while. I tried moving him to get him to get more food but he seemed depressed and did not eat when I added him back with the Sen he started eating again,I really want him to eat more but he does not when he is not with the Senegal bichir.

You can try target feeding more or feeding on both sides of the tank. I never did much to target my del and it had to compete with cichlids and tetras for food. I’m sure it would grow faster with more targeted feeding, but it got more confident with size.
