Got My New Tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think your choice of dithers will be limited by tank size. Anything that isn’t a food option is going to get too large for the 75 (though so will the Oscar).

Yeah agreed, I'll just leave as is until I can get the 125.

That green terror will be king of the tank. Love his progress. They are slower growers compared to other cichlids but well worth it.

Ok….so we have a problem. The Oscar has chased the GT always, but never turned into anything. I think the GT finally growing gave him some balls. I walked in yesterday and they were locked up. Now this AM, their faces are both torn up and the Oscar’s fins are pretty beat up. He’s still twice the size of the GT but the GT is pretty thick and seems like he’s really growing fast lately. If I had to let one go it’d be the Oscar, but was hoping I could keep them both for at least a year or so. What would ya’ll do? Watch it for a few days?

Watch what for a few days? Watch the situation get worse? It'll almost certainly do that. You have too many large-growing cichlids in too few gallons of water. Separate now.

First of all such an interesting journal of your tank, so sorry about what has happened and the many tragedies. Keep the green terror and rehome the Oscar, he can be kept in your tank size and is the best option.
