I think a 10 could work, but may be a little tight. My Krib pair is in a 20l and that seems to work very well. If you were going to put them in 10 that you have i would add more hiding spots in case the male and female get agressive towards each other.

As far as getting a pair: What i did was when my lfs had about 30 in a tank you will notice a dominant male and a female. Look for a agressive male showing more color then the rest and a big bright red belly on a female.

thanks very much for the tips for getting a pair, that will help very much. also thanks for the other info.

i think ill give it a shot and see what happens. anyone else have some tips? and what about pics guys!! lol show your krib tanks. :grinno:

thanks again for everything!

plenty of room for a pair in a 10 gal.. dithers is a must get some zebra danios or neons... You probably can find a pair at your lfs...

my only concern would be water clarity, when they do spawn and those babys are free swimming pull them out quick so you dont spike... A 10 gal will work if your smart.. good luck

I finally have a compatable pair in my 20 long but it wasn't easy. I started off with two females and a similar sized male. Both the females were plump and had a lot of color. Third day I come home from work and saw that one of the females had killed the other female. The next day I see the female beating on the male a little but I figured they would be ok since there are quite a few hiding spots. The next morning I look in the tank and the female had killed the male as well. I went back to the LFS and got the biggest, baddest male I could find. These two have paired up really well. The male is dominant but he won't let the school of danio's or my pictus cat's anywhere near the female.

thanks for the info etan, ill be sure to get the biggest male posible. cant wait for this tank to cycle! :( anyways heres a pic of the tank with the water alittle clearer today. i guess it wasent as much tanner as my topsoil(under the gravle) being alittle kicked up from filling the tank. what do u guys think about a black backround?

have a few snails thats annoying :x
can i stuff this tank with plants? or do kribs need alot more room?

thanks for all the help so far guys.
