How would you know if your Midas is actually midevil. And are midevil same aggressive as a pure midas??
Can't really tell just by looking at it, but unless you bought it from Rapps or CoA, or another reputable importer/breeder, chances are your fish is probably a midevil. If bought at random pet store, or at Petco/smart, that should be considered a midevil. Red devils are A. Labiatus, and midas are A. Citrinellus. The two species are so closely related that they are very difficult to distinguish. So if you are looking to breed and distribute them, buy some pure Labiatus or Citrinellus from Dan at CoA or similar. Otherwise you should probably call the fish midevils.
The aggression should be the same, and varies from fish to fish individually.

I would contact them and ask the lineage. If they don't know a locale and get it from a florida breeder or similar, you probably won't know if it's pure citrinellum. I'd recommend cichlids of the Americas now that Rapps is gone.

Having a hard time getting a response from them.
