I've had my 110 gallon aquarium up and running for about a year now. Last month I came home to fish and water on the floor and in the unit below. The bottom piece of glass cracked from end to end. Marineland said the most likely cause was the custom stand I had the tank on. They sent me a new tank for free but said i had to buy a stand or the warranty would be voided. Has anyone used a RJ Enterprise stand before . I bought this stand and was worried that it wont hold the weight.http://www.petco.com/product/117675/RAndJ-Enterprises-Espresso-Oak-Empire-Cabinet-7590110.aspx I1255.jpg1271.jpeg1191.jpg have approx 175 lbs of live rock in the tank. what is a 110g tank rated to hold?

unsure of the rating of weight...however, in my experience any x-high tanks.... are verrrry sketchy with the amount of weight and lifespan... i have had a 29 gallon tank x-high break on me once...for that reason i broke down my 110 and sold it. I figured if i have had 30 gallons of water on my floor twice...im skipping the 110.......Marineland is going to say that is the stand.... it's like comcast saying your internet sucks because of a third party router... it's never their fault...

hey...i guess just let it ride if you're willing to and when it breaks again in a year or two...call them back like 'what gives? i got your stand and now it broke again? Plan on paying for my tv it broke this time?'

Your new stand looks a lot like the one I have my 100 tall tank on. I was a bit concerned about it's strength so I built three squares out of 2x4s that I wedged into each end of the stand an also the middle. This gave me a lot more security on the strength of the stand without "really" voiding the warranty.

If the stand you built got wet witch it most likely did when the tank broke then its trash. Sorry to put it like that but water and wood aren't a good mix especially when the tank itself full of water is weighing in at around 1,000 lbs. I would do like already suggested buy the new stand and add extra supports.

I forgot to mention 175 lbs of live rock might be what busted the tank. From the looks of the pic it cracked right under the rocks
