How much does a renters insurance cost?

I pay 100 dollars a year for 30,000 in coverage... But if you have concrete floors I wouldn't be too worried about it. Plus if your lease says you can't have it then I'm not sure renters insurance would cover it but you could always call and find out.

I got a quote yesterday morning and the quote is $320/year and that's at Geico Insurance.

I use state farm and both of my cars are insured by them and that is why my renter's insurance is only 100 but I think it was near 200 before the discount. It may vary from area to area but I would check around with a few other companies.

Well remember 1 gallon of saltwater weighs 8.5lbs. So just with water in your tank your looking at close to 1000 lbs or more if you have live rock and the weight of your tank, stand, hood, and everything.

i am having the same issue, i am planning a 150g aquarium and debating if i should put it in my 12th floor apartment, overall it will end up weighing about a ton, with only a ten sguare foot, footprint. i'm really worried that it will collapse the floor even if i put it on the outside wall.

btw 1 gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds and a square foot of 1/2 inch glass weighs about ten pounds
