How does that bicher not get eaten with all those large hungry mouths?

Supercool!
Congratulations and thank you for sharing your journey with this monster tank.

How does that bicher not get eaten with all those large hungry mouths?
That is a good question! I really don’t know? The niger cat is a gentle giant. The AUL “genius” is so dumb it hurts to watch him. He will chew up food and spit it out. Look for it a while, find it and chew it more and spit it out again. While he is doing this all the other fish steal the food.
Basically the bikers are safe

Along with the background I painted the bottom of the tank. I actually intended to just leave the bottom painted but changed my mind after putting the wood and rocks in. It just doesn’t look good to me without the gravel. It’s too sterile looking, like an office lol.
this will be a test of the durability of the painted bottom.
Also, no surprise, one of the cichlids dug a hole to the bottom and it’s showing the painted surface. It looks way better than the silver styrofoam coating that would of shown through the bottom.

What brand, size, and number of lights did you go with. Two six foot led's?
The lights came with the tank, not sure what they are so I will take a couple pictures for ya. Three total light units. They are 5 feet. The two lights in the back are the same and they have two switches each. One switch is for the white LEDs and the other is for the blue LEDs. I just run all of them on during the day and at night I’m going to put something dimmer to simulate moon light so I can watch the fish at night. Also all of this will be controlled with a timer eventually.

Love it! Great thread and the fish have so much room. Datnoid Heaven there!
Always looked at your posts/thread and this one has been great reading

Great thread. Thanks for taking the time to post all the pics and descriptions.

Those fish must really be huge as they make this giant tank look small in the pics!
