14” Clown Loach in UK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine aren't fed as much as I would like due to the filter not being able to keep up and they're a nice shape. Not too stocky and not too thin.

I agree with Cory, most wild fish are typically carrying some type/amount of parasite load. That, and as previously stated I would guess that those loaches shown above are all males. I have seen wild females collected in Sumatra, with photos taken along the shoreline of the Musi River, and they look just like my tank raised female. Fat and sassy!

I was surprised, and not in a good way, because I thought the mature breeding stock is being protected officially at least.

In Sumatra there is no export restriction on their size, and large loaches always sell. In Kalimantan (Borneo) there is a ban in place on any clown loach over 6".

Vincent - in other words, maybe those are tiny Donald Trump hands? ha-ha

Looks good to me! :)

Haha yep, that's what I mean. No doubting it's an absolute monster clown, but without something of a known size to show scale I wouldn't want to guess the exact size. I would be surprised if it was less than 12" though!
