Ok so updated list:
- 10 cherry barbs
- 12 glass catfish
- 12 white skirt tetras
- 12 black skirt tetras
- 12 bleeding heart tetras
- 2 raphael catfish (one 6" striped, one 5" spotted)
- 2 upside catfish (one older fully grown 5" one younger little over 1")
- 1 banjo catfish (fully grown, about 5")
- 1 common pleco (about 15")

Here's what I'm thinking of adding after I rebuild the schools (basically must haves):
- 8-10 bolivian rams
- 10 gold barbs
- 12 diamond tetras
- 8-10 boesemani rainbows
- 12 Odessa barbs

Here's what I want to add (but not must haves):
- 6-8 apistos (would need advice on what kind)
- 10 julii corys

For the larger fish:
- 4 geophagus tapajos (will do just 1 if I must)

I would love to do 16+ each like The Masked Shadow said..but these numbers are based on me thinking there's still too many species..especially in the middle of the tank. I have to thin it out more..but I'm having trouble deciding.

Now I really want the geo tapajos. When they reach full size..Will the more slim fish like any of the barbs or glass catfish be a bad combo? No matter how much I want the tapajos, I will NEVER not have glass catfish. I really don't know why. I just must have them. And like I said I'm attached to my 4th generation cherry barbs..stupid fish.

If they're gonna end up being lunch, I have the option to move them to nano tank (29 gal). But it wouldn't be able to support multiple schools of 12. This could also help lower the amount of species in the 150 gallon. The cherry barbs in the 29 gal would also give me a much needed excuse not to get chili raspboras. This is starting to sound like a good idea...

Aw that sucks I love vampires. Figured it wouldn't work but was hoping their size and shell would help. Oh well.

I won't rehome pleco until it reaches closer to 20" (my wife has bonded with him). Once he's too big I can donate him to the indoor pond at the LFS I work at currently. He's already a semi-aggressive poop machine..just only 15" lmao. I've been able to contain and control water parameters and bio-load..but yes, even she knows he eventually has to go. I'm probably wrong, but I feel like with the right setup he can grow comfortably once I put him in the new 150 gallon. He's basically the reason I chose to upgrade.
Unfortunately, you are incorrect. There is indeed not enough room for a full grown common in a 587 liter.

As for your second question, yes, the glass catfish may well get eaten by the red heads. Wouldn't chance it myself.
