Get a job washing jets or something ;)

no taking time off from the tank build... I'm already glued to this project and Buster is keeping his fins on the glass watching as well ... maybe he's wishing it's his new home... perhaps I should start mine soon LOL
Yeah my fish are going nuts over here. Hopefully with additional funds I can kick it into high gear over the next couple of weeks!!

None of the glass shops have gotten back to me. The qoute above is from a website I found. That's their rough qoute with shipping. Glass shops around here are horrible. Most told me that the largest glass they can order in is 3/4".
Look into the largest towns in Montana and see if there are any acrylic shops at all, and talk to them over the phone or directly. Talking to an actual person will give you more accurate estimates.

The closest acrylic shop I can find is in idaho. I'd have to have it shipped then also. I'll try to see if there's anything in billings, missoula, or bozeman while I'm posted this tour. Montana's largest city is Billings population is a hundred twenty thousand. Great falls is next lol.

That reminds me. I am off to work for another five days. Like I said before there's tons of things I am doing right now so don't expect to see tons of progress just yet. I'll be getting $200 more supplies next break, but still have to finish the 200 gal build. The purpose of the 200 gal is to buy me more time on the big tank. So epoxying the 200, and setting the window is paramount next break. Maybe a test fill also. Other than that I'll try to get a ton of the lumber sorted and cut for the following break. So slow for a while, but it will get there. I should have a tour off after my next tour out. So the end of the month should show some real progress. My goal is to have the skeleton and bottom finished by the end of the month. Talk to you guys in five days. Oh btw I can still read on MFK, but can't log in at work! Crazy right?

Don't forget the fish that your keeping in there... they are called tank busters for a reason and are real power houses....with room to actually build up some speed... I think the extra strength is needed :D

Yeah imagine what mine are going to cost...:irked: I'm going 5' deep

I want to build a 10x48x30 plywood tank. any ideas as far as what I might need (especially glass/acrylic size)?

Regards glass pricing, in Australia we have demolished house suppliers. The people who pull down buildings and houses will re-sell most of the used materials at used prices. When I build large tanks (or ponds with viewing windows) I look for used All Glass Doors. They will already be tempered but fairly uniform size (door frames). You should be able to find the same thing where you are.

is that in feet?

100,000 gallons if it is. That's a lot.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm looking to go lumber shopping tomorrow. I have $200 to spend so let's see what I can get done. I'm still trying to get a reply on exact qoutes for glass. Might have to qoute out a piece for the 200 gal I am building also. Pics tomorrow after the lumber is here. Will pretty much look the same with a huge stack of lumber. lol
