you guys are all awesome. All these responses to my filter ideas. That's great that people will take the time to do sketches of what they think I should do. I will let you guys know that I think I have a sound solution that will work and be kind of easy. I will do a sketch later, but I think that I should do some overflow boxes on the back of the tank and have some small chambers where the pumps can go below that. The pumps will reverse the flow upwars into the filter boxes that will sit halfway across the back of the tank. I think that the back wall can support that just fine. The filter will run all the way across the back. Basically I will be making a giant hob filter of sorts. It will be the new marineland 10,000, hehehe. I've kinda taken everyone's ideas and combined them. With the majority of the filter hanging over the back I can build some braces to hold it up and creat some storage space as bass suggested. Running it all the way across the back distributes the weight better. I would do the idea of making a false back and putting the filter all the way across, but a space that deep and narrow would be hella hard to fiberglass and epoxy! Running it across the center is a cool idea also, but not sure on the asthetics of that one.
