Thanks for all the support guys. Nothing has been done to the big tank, and I'll be hauling off the 200 this weekend. Going to clean out the garage to make room for setting back up my leaky 1000 gal pool to buy me some more time until this project gets finished.
Wait, hauling it off? You can haul it over to nor-cal if you want and drop it off. :D

So necro are you gonna put any big cichlids in there like some oscars and such? Or sticking to the big cats?

P.S. Am I the only anal O.C.D. dork that is irritated that the spell check on MFK doesn't know how to spell cichlid or is this thought shared by many? Stupid red squiggly line telling me I can't spell. Ha! :irked:

Any way good luck with the rest of the build I look forward to seeing its progress.

k bye

Thanks for all the support guys. If it's not one thing it's another. Seems my channel catfish got a rtc fin spine really deep in his side. Yet another reason to have a bigger tank. So now I have a dead 2 yo 10 lbs. channel catfish in my freezer. He must have been dead the better part of last night and today. Smelled pretty bad when I got home a while ago. I will be doing massive water changes tonight and again this weekend. So that takes me down to just two catfish in the 350, and one in the 300 gal pond. I really need to get this big tank finished, but everything keeps getting in the way. If it wasn't for shipping costs I would already have the stuff to seal it here by now. oh well

What did you decide to seal it with? Have you looked into Ames Blue Max?

I think you just saved my butt man. That's great pricing for a fully waterproof product. I've found similar, but the shipping qoute is unreal low. 150 for five gallons, and $24 to ship to me? I gotta call tomorrow and see if that's for real. If so I'm having it shipped out next week. I wanted black, but hell for that price I'd do it green, so blue is not such a bad compromise! Was gonna cost me 200 for what I was going to get, then $100 to have it shipped.

I think it's $25-35 to ship it UPS or something.

I spoke with Gene in their tech department. Nice guy with lots of answers. Since it's water based, there's a 2 week cure time. That's the only downside. You can get it in a sprayable version and use an airless sprayer like a wagner to apply it. It's non toxic from the get go, so no nasty fumes to deal with. It has a long pot time as well.

It's about 100 sq. ft per gallon per coat and they recommend minimum 3 coats preferably 5 or 10 mil the thickness of a dime for water tank. You'll need the seam tape for your corners too.

I'm getting 2 - 5 gallons for my 265 sq. ft. I have to cover. I'm also getting their Prime&Paint product which is designed for the wet and cold of Oregon to paint my fish room with.

$100 to have it shipped? what were you going to use? I got 5gal of polyester shipped from USComposites.com a year or so ago for $110 plus $20 ground shipping or so. I wonder if they've started shipping it as a hazmat.
