Did I miss something?
Your the one that said it.

When nolapete and cvermeulen were talking about surface area and volume, you said "I love nerd fights, but the worst thing is I understand it all "

Get it? I think you have to get it right away for it to be even the slightest bit funny.

What is flu piping?
Where the exhaust goes :) Maybe its an old term. All I know is when I vent tankless water heaters I gotta use this special stainless pipe with rubber gaskets at every connection and its very expensive. But its code to use them so what can I say , more mark up for me :)

I just recently discovered this thread and have been going through it for about an hour. I am speechless. That tank is enormous. Talk about having a dream and going for it 110%. Good luck and I hope everything turns out for the best. Were are you located? I would absolutely love to see this some day.

PM me for details my friend. You are definitely welcome to swing by anytime you are in great falls.:D

As for the heating of this tank I think I have a great compromise that I thought of when reading your comments guys, and gals. I'll sketch it up when I have time. For now good night!

So you come on only to tell us you are going to bed!

Yup and now I'm at work!:headbang2 Working a lot this week, but in return I'll have 4 days off to work on the tank next week!:headbang2 I will be just under the amount that I would need to buy a 5 gal bucket of the bluemax so I will proceed with just glassing the tank and doing the finish work on it. I have a gallon of fiberglass resin so that should work for the corners of this thing. might have to get another gallon if I do all the cracks between the sheets of plywood. Might be a good idea huh? Luckily there will be good warm weather this weekend.:D Going to try to get it completely sanded, and stained on the outside. Might try to get a coat of urathane on there also.

You might want to look in to a pool heater. Not sure on price difference but you could cycle the water through it with out too many worries. Just an idea.
Most pool heaters start near $1000

Shipping freight you can count on near $100 or more depending where it is going to and from.

The electronic inline seem nice, but what would their estimated power consumption be compared to other inline options like n. gas/propane
