Holy crap Cliff. I havent popped in on the board in a few weeks and this is what I find when I do?? BADASS. Happy for you on the pond end, and feel for you in the bumpy end. Hope he makes it. Quite a project you have going, can't wait to see it finished...sure you feel the same. Your cats will love it...Im also sure you will need some other inhabitants of the not whiskered variety, great project!

There's been an update on the bumpy thread. As for the tank here's the pics. I tried to get a ton so that you guys could see the work from different angles. As you can see the first piece of ply is on the top. I don't think you can see the small level, but somehow I managed to keep this thing completely level eventhough I built it at an angle. I think it boils down to good measurements and cutting. I've learned that I have to keep my tolerences low when it comes to my cuts. I've settled for less than 1mm tolerence or I redo whatever piece I am working on. Seems to be keeping everything flush, square and level. building from left to right I'm off about 1/2 cm from the front to the back. I don't think that's too terrible for someone who has no training at all when it comes to carpentry. I consistently cut everything to the outside of every line I make with my square or snapline. I measure everything like a million times before cutting, or adding pieces. I would like to say that on the top bracing the pieces that intersect the middle of the braces are only attached by 4 screws. One at each corner. I predrill holes in each corner to about a 30 degree angle so that when I screw it into the intersecting piece it's almost straight on. Done this way it can easily support all 210 lbs of me on 4 screws. Add the top ply to this and you get the picture. This thing will be amazingly strong. Anyway enough rambling here's the pics.

Oh, and btw I now have more funds thanks to a member on here that is ordering another skeleton from me. I'll have to find some time to work on the 3 skeletons I have on order when I get back from work next time. Also should be ordering the lights, and the sealant this week. So the only thing left will be the glass. I will also be buying the last of the plywood if I can get my old comet sold. It's really rough and I'm just asking $200 to get it out of my driveway, and have funds for this tank.;)

oh, almost forgot. There's a pic of how I joined the center bracing. I kind of stairsteped it one board at a time, and it's superstrong. I jumped on it best I could, and didn't budge according to my friend. Sorry for the late updates I was trying to negotiate on the car.
