180g Tank Weight (empty)

Hey all,

I've searched for a while, but all I can find is full tank weights (with water/substrate/etc). Anyone know roughly how many lbs a 180g fish tank weighs empty? 6x2x2.

Reason I'm asking as We'll have to invert the tank to move it down our stairs, and obviously that will be tricky with an extremely heavy tank.

I am not 100% sure but I think it is around 200 -250lbs. when you say invert your tank, do mean on end?

If so I had to do this with my 150 we movd it with 3 people 2 people holding the bottom and walking down the stairs and one person controling the top so it would not tip too far. The hardest prt was if the tank was to strait it would drop from one stair to the next, bad, and if was at too much of an angel it would become a glass tabogan, also bad.

Thank you guys! Yes I meant invert it on end. Thinking I might have to invest in some of those suction cup handles... Although the though of holding up a 275lb tank with suction cups makes me cringe. :nilly:
