  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
great question... i thought only i wondered about it.......

they are very peaceful towards each other and thier tanks mate...that no different that other more moderate cichlids.

the have lots of babies and do a great job guarding them.

i think there are now about 8 adults in the 5000 and seem fine together. they dont school but they do pair off.

when the fish were moved from 2400 to 5000 it was very noticable how much more relaxed they were.

even the bad a*sed jardini calmed down alot.

Hey John, got a non Sam question. You had a number of Red Devils in the tank, how did they behave in a tank of your size? In small tanks, normally they are quite aggressive and in tank of -100g (?) it is normally suggested one RD per tank. In your case, you must had a school of them and obviously they are at the bottom in term of size ... are you using them as dithers? Do they school together? Did they go after other cichlids in the tank or they just guard their own territories?

Thanks

Just a matter of space and comfort zone! In your case, the RDs are dithers for Sam :)) No sure if you want to experiment, a school of Mono Sebaes would be nice in your tank. Those guys do school and plenty fast to run from danger. I have mine in feshwater full time for years now and they have grown to 9" tall in a 180g. In yours, they can grow to their full potential of 14" tall :)
