Hey guys, A Channa Aurantimaculata recently became available at 5-7", and I was wondering if I could add one to my 110 gallon aquarium(60"x18"x24") which has an 8" Channa Pulchra that is pretty passive. Would this combo work if there were lots of plants, rocks, an driftwood?

Thanks, -Justin

Mixing species is never a good idea, i had a gachua and an auranti together for about 3months and i didnt end well, none died but the gachia was badly injured, this was when i fisrt got into snakeheads and ignored advice lol

snakehead enthusiasts always say not to mix them, because they may kill eachother, they may cross breed then you get hybrids and they become hard to identify like some cichlids

Makes sense. I think i'll leave my pulchra alone. Maybe add some dithers.

keep him on his own :)

or better still sell him and buy 6 - 8 of a different channa and try and breed them?? for something new

let me i ask... how about mixing 2 channa one species in one tank?

i wondering to buy 2 channa pulchra 5" and put them in one tank...

tank size is about 20"x20"x20"... can i?

It never hurts to try. If you see one get bullied, just take it out. Its all chance and a bit of luck.

People say never mix different pygocentrus species together like a red belly and caribas but some people successfully did it. Why? Because they just tried to see if it works. If it doesn't just take it out. Simple.
