20 gallon BRUTE W/D, Zenn-Style

Did some shopping at H-D today and decided to upgrade the indoor wet/dry filters first.
Here is my starting point...


I also got some Matala fabric, floss, and Scrubbies on the way...

OK...
got out the Cordless, a hole saw and the PVC shears and got to work on the drip tubing...

I just need to drill the holes along the .75" tubing and fittings, and the Lid is done...

Fired up the BBQ this AM and heated up the hotknife,
(aka bare hacksaw blade) cutting the eggcrate to fit in the bottom of the BRUTE...

Anybody know where the cheapest hoses are sold?
I want the flexible type with 1" slip fittings...

As far as hose... your best bet is to just buy it from the hardware store. Its about $1-1.50 I think.

Nice big sump. Gonna be harder to clean. You should drill a purge hole near the bottom so you can drain the settled junk.

Yeah that might just make it easier to clean out the bottom of the collected crap...I'll have to look into a petcock and hose for that...

I'm needing this kinda hose and couplings for my inlet/outlets...
50 bucks plus shipping just seems like a rip-off for 4' of hose...

Don't waste your money on those. Try something like this;

1.5-2" hose - $2 per foot

1.5-2" hose clamps - $1.39 for two

Tube of GE silicone - $3.5 - $4

The way I'm routing the hoses, they need to be really flexible.
Stainless hose clamps out here are like 1.99 ea. for 1" size, but I'm going for a cleaner look with the glue on soft rubber fittings.

You could always buy the black sump pump hose. It is really flexible.

Sadley enough, very rarely do you get great looks with the bargain price. You might have to suck it up to get exactly what you want.
