Thanx.
I wouldn't say it's bulletproof but it's got a pretty solid ring to it when you knuckle it.

We only fiberglassed the outside.

Do you think there will be an issue having water in it for long term use?
Not really. The epoxy used is made for applications like this. I also intentionally made the silicone seal footprint fairly wide. Having said that the only thing that I can think of that may make something like this fail is a wild temperature swing. Wood and glass do not expand/contract at the same rate. That does bother me a bit and I will be looking for it.

I love the look of the tank. Seems like A LOT of HARD work was put into it. I've done large scale DIY projects before but they were for my iguana, and my father did alot of the work. Good luck!

Great work, thats some neat work. Love the black epoxy look, are you going to over much of it with the background? My only thought is that i've heard that if your plywood is coated both sides, it is more prone to rot. Because it carn't breath. Not proven only a idea. My ply tank has epoxy inside and a light coat of varnish outside. I've noticed a small amount of surface mold in the cabinet above the sump, gotta keep an eye on that.
Very nice, cannot wait to see more!!!!!!!:WHOA:

Thanx very much.
Basically the tank is totally encapsulated. We tried as much as possible to have no exposed wood anywhere.

I've heard of the rot theory but in my limited education on the subject I have my doubts...for now. Common sense tells me that there has to be some sort of air/moisture exchange for that to happen. In order for that to happen there has to be some sort of void in the coating. Hopefully we dont have any voids. I will be watching carefully though.

No, the inside is black but the outside will be a challenge. I havent gotten to that point yet but the options are endless.
