Thanks for the info guys. The only reason why I do not want to approach the landlord is that she is really anal, and I don't want her to know I'm going to house a 210 g tank. But anyone know exactly how heavy a 90% filled 210g 7x2x2 will weigh? Nevertheless I'm going with it because my shoal needs a permanent home thatthey spend it for life.
Hello; I usually use 12 pounds per gallon as a general estimate of the weight of large tanks. It can be even more depending on various factors. I get somewhere around 2268 pounds at 90%.
I suspect that you will be liable for whatever damage may be caused to the property of some one else.
Perhaps a good renters policy should be considered. That likely will not keep you from being evicted when your "anal" landlord finds out.
Not a very impressive plan.

Actually, there is a better plan. I spoke with my landlord few days ago regarding moving to a different unit especially one with a/c. But, recently one tenant moved out from a unit on the first floor. I will take that unit by the end of next week and have my new tank cycling in there as I move my stuff. Now, I dont have to worry about causing problems to the unit below me. Anyways, just to take precautious measure, I will only fill 80% of my new tank to limit the weight to assure that the chance of a problem occurring will be reduce. Thanks for all the input guys, definitely helped me before making a foolish mistake!
