30 gallon cichlid tank?

Hey all, So I might be setting up a 30 gallon tank soon and was wondering for some idea's of a single cichlid....I would love a JD or a Green Terror but I won't do it due to tank size anyways something other than a pair of firemouth or convicts....Is there a JD type cichlid that can live in a 30 gallon for a good while?

If going single fish there are a few cool ones to do.

Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
Several different freshwater puffers.
polypterus sengalus
Gold Piranha (for a year or so then you want a 40 breeder +)
lots of others that just won't get in my head right now. lol

EBJD have a super slow growth rate, but will out grow that tank. Some Rams would look pretty good

EBJD it is baby!!!!! at least for a couple of years until I get me a 125g or 150g

I don't hear of too many EBJD's over 7", and JDs grow pretty slow. Might get some people telling me and cichlid_Starter that we're nutty fish abusers but a 30 should work for life and almost for sure over a year. You're not planing on adding any other fish to the tank right?
