in the areas were the pipes run the bg has the most detail and the indents are deep if i cut it the pipes would be visible. Iv been tossing around a few ideas. id dont want to compromise filtration , i have many large and still growing cichlids awaiting this much needed upgrade. I dont really want to lose to much volume either. my tank is 24 h and the bg only 19. im thinking about using the main 1/2 in the center between the 2 overflows raised 3 " so the bg meets the top of the overflow were the inlet slits begin. then using pieces if the other half to fil in the space between the overflow and the side, were i want to cut into corner at 45 degree angle and wrap around side about 1/2 way and have it escalating in height from front to back (installed at the raised height in the back but level on the side) then use more bg pieces to fill in another 3 innch tall layer over the bottom gap of the already installed , this would run along the bottom of the entire tank across the overflows to tie in the center and sides, sorry for the super long post alot on the mind
