That is actually where I saw the 50 long in the first place. Seemed like a great idea instead of being stuck between a 40 breeder and a 75.

I see your point and believe Gourami Swami is spot on with his analysis. A low tank just does not appeal to the masses who are way more interested in aesthetics than functionality, but I do think that 13" may be a little too low and would exclude a lot of taller bodied fish from being good candidates for the tank.

A 55 is too narrow for them full grown though. If you want angelfish or discus a 75 would be the way to go.
