And dont have to get it mailed to you.

not sure how long it will hold up and yes you can get it from lowes or home depot is 20 bucks a gallon. once you seal the tank with it at least 3 coats but im going to use 4 let it dry a 3 or 4 days and then use silicone and seal all of the corners and seams

nice, i'll have to look into it. Does it say anyting on the label about standing water or life expectancy? I have pond coat that I can order but $67 vs $20, if it will hold for years and years.

No worries about fish safety. From what I remember the can did say 10yr. warranty, however, I believe it was for use on concrete, not directly on plywood. MAY still work just as well, but it's not been proven(to my knowledge), which is why I'm so interested to follow your tank. I did a plywood 180G sealed w/drylok a few years ago. I had it running for a year w/absolutely NO ISSUES. I ultimately had to sell it due to a move, so I never got the chance to find out it's true longevity. I do know TheFishGuy did the same thing on a few sumps and smaller tanks, but said they started failing around the two year mark. How long has your friend had his 240G up???

Forgot to add that, I'm currently using a piece of 3/4" plywood sealed in drylok as a replacement panel for a 75G w/a cracked side. Planning on using the same method for a 55G I just picked up...

Ok on Friday I got part of the stand built. I used 2x4's to build the stand. I am also building another tank that sits underneath my 76 gallon and I also got the plywood cut out for that tank. I hope today to put the glass in the 76 and put together the smaller tank. I still need to go to lowe's and get some paneling and other hardware to complete the stand and the canopy. I'm not sure if I want to use led lighting for both tanks or not.
