750 Gallon Pond

Hello all,
I have had my redtail cat in a 120 by himself for quite sometime and hes gotten to the point where he needs a new home. I found a 750 gallon pond on amazon and I am wondering whats the best way to filter and heat it. The 120 is the biggest tank I have and it has a FX4 on it which I love. I have been looking for tutorials on how to build sumps but I came across a canister filter for an outdoor pond made by aquascape, its called the Ultraklean 2000. Its 2700gph, has bio media and a uv sterilization bulb. I would probably add some filter floss in there as well. Would this suffice? I plan to have some plants growing out as well. And for a heater I guess have 2 1000w heaters? Let me know thank you!

I've ran several 150 & 300 gal Rubbermaids over the years. I have a 150 set up now.

I ran a heavily stocked 300 gal with a BioForce 2000 filter for a long time. That was 20 years ago though so I can't vouch for the current models of that filter. It worked quite well.

In my experience/opinion... your main concerns should be water movement and mechanical filtration. Catfish are messy creatures so you're going to want to get their waste out of the tank. Keep in mind this also means out of the filter (as waste breaking down in the filter still adds pollutants to your system). So finding a filter with a backwash and having a practical way to backwash it (most filters with backwash are meant to be used outside thus the backwash feature is designed to discharge into the yard.

My old BF2000 did not have backwash and was a chore to clean. Which means I only cleaned it a couple of times a year.

Is this the 750 Gal you're referring to? I've eyeballed it plenty of times but just don't have the floor space for it.
