thank you. and sorry for the lack of updates you guys but I haven't set up shop in my garage since I bought my house and I was getting tired of climbing over and digging through boxes for tools. got It somewhat organized now so work on the tank should start back up this weekend

I'm using a propane torch to heat a piece of inconel welding rod that I inserted in my soldering gun. the gun itself wouldn't keep it hot enough prob not the best way but just making do with what I have

Sorry to hear that man. I had some fish die lately and started a thread on it. The temperature dropped when my pacu destroyed the heaters. According to other members, the immunity of the fish dropped off and the already high nitrates got them. I've upgraded my test kit and gotten the water to begin improving. I imagine the situation may be similar in terms of temperature? I guess check everything and make sure that isn't the problem. I hope your remaining fish don't die. I've got a gourami and a tore up pacu that I'm trying to hang onto myself.

the only thing I can think of is one or more of my cats puked up the shrimp I fed them and spoiled the water though they have never done this before I believe it is possible. the heaters and pumps were all running temp was normal did a 50 percent water change the night before. the water when I got home was poor quality but wasn't sure if it was from the dead fish floating in it. but I think it makes more sense that the fish ruined the water and the elevated ammonia killed them but I not sure I have never lost a fish due to water quality and never had multiple fatalities all at once now I have to think of how to prevent a future occurance. I think 800 gal would have bought me some time. but who knows

Sorry to hear about the loss.

Before I got into this as a hobby yea it sucked losing a fish, but now it is almost devistating. Keeping SA/CA cichlids I have gotten used to the attention that they give me.

Keep up the good work,

Bear
