96 x 30 x 24 Tank and Arowana Species

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry but I thought you said not to go down that road and I respected that but since you brought it up again...

So a fish keeper should care if an aro dies but not if a silver dollar dies?

You did not seem to reply to the previous question of what specialised care is required for an asian arowana as compared to silver dollars
Dude! Seriously come on. You are not that dumb.

This debate is easily solved. Does anyone have a kid around 12 years old?
If so buy them 2 tanks, place an Asian arowana in one and a convict cichlids in the other. Leave the fish totally in the care of the child then Post an update in 12 months of how they are progressing. I know what I would be betting would be in better shape.

Also the OP has now moved on from this, it looks like he has taken at least some of the advice that has been offered so I don't see the point of trying to prove it one way or the other anymore.

Food/Feeding - SD's are much easier to feed in general -- just throw in pellets and watch 'em go
Am I the only one that has silver dollars that aren't attacking food or out constantly? Mine always hover behind the pot whenever I move then slowly swim out but go back a lot. Whenever I feed they never eat from the surface, they simply pick at the flakes once they have fell to the floor.

Well that's not what I wanted to hear.

The sds I had were pigs. I had three and they would outcompete all the other fish. They had to go.
