hi there, i have an acei cichlid that recently survived a ich infestation. A few days ago, i noticed that he has a grayish fungus-like thing growing on his head. Can you please identify what it could be and tell me the treatment of it. The tank water quality is ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate .10 water temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit and ph is 7.5.IMG_0323[1].JPGIMG_0322[1].JPGIMG_0324[1].JPG

It looks as though he's been picked on and now the wounds are getting a nasty fungus. I would place him in a hospital tank with mela/pima fix. Follow the directions exactly. What are your water params. Usually little nips will clear up on their own, but with your ick outbreak a little more help may be needed. You should notice a huge improvement after 3 days, but finish the treatment (a full 7 days).

Aggression can be controlled to a degree by keeping the ratio in check. Also if one is weak it will get singled out.
