Acnodon Normani. Aka tiger sheep pacu.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have noticed that they absolutely love strong current, which was surprising because I thought pacus preferred slow moving waters. This grow out has a turnover rate of about 55 (it's a 135gallon) and they always kick it with the GATF and the bambusa near an Eddie or right in front of the power head.

A few more pics of them I just took:

They're more closely related to piranhas.

That's interesting, maybe that's why they have more of a elongated shape than other pacus

Want want want lol...

They are a great sized dither and just not readily available.

They are usually collected from rivers with flowing water. Makes sense they like the current.

Awesome pick up!

Update:
The lowest ranking sheep pacu was killed by the other two guys a few months ago. I found it stuck to the powerhead :(. Thats when I realized that I needed dithers for my dithers lol. So I added 3 tiger scats in there as well now. They seem to have stopped growing at around 7". The two remaining ones don't fight much.

Where did you get the tiger scats from?
