If I am going to build a 150 gallon to 200 gallon acrylic tank what is the minimum thickness I will need.

Can I get away with .375"?

And has anyone built there own acrylic tank? Is it pretty difficult?

Do a search, Milkman just built an acrylic tank. As to the thickness, the actual volume means little without knowing the height of the tank.

Minimum acrylic thickness depends on the height of the tank. A typical two-foot tall tank uses 1/2" acrylic, as do both my Tenecor 360 gallon and Truvu 180 gallon, both 24" tall tanks. You can likely get away w/ only 3/8" as proposed if you keep the tank to around 18" high or shorter.

Sage advice, my tenecor bought 200g is 8x2x20" and is 3/8 thickness......I trust Tenecor...
