^ agreed with Pharoah. I have a 30" tenecor tank with 1/2" as well. Annnnd it bows.... It's all about height, not length or width. I really wish my 300g was at least 3/4" thick.
It's all about hight and length. Nothing about width (front to back). So you can have a 6 foot long X 2 foot high tank that goes to China and it would still have the same amount of pressure on that panel as lets say 6X2X2 foot 180 gallon tank.

Sometimes this physics stuff is confusing :screwy:

I'm disassembling two 180's now and I plan on using the glass to build a 6X6x2 tank with the four 6X2 glass panels and a plywood/fiberglass bottom. Same pressure on the glass and 4X the amount of water. :headbang2

Yes, but the side that goes to China would need thicker acrylic because it would then be the longest side.

How about we say that you calculate based on the height vs the longest side?;)
