wow sooo cool did you get it when was a baby ? if so how old ? & how long did you have him for?? nice KIAAAAAAAHHHHHHH LOL

He was born in July '08... I got him in August (6 wks old) of '08...

He was bred and sold to me by Bobby Hill (Varnyard). Every detail of the purchase went marvelous and I would direct anyone to him interested in buying a Tegu. He also has a Tegu forum at www.tegutalk.com

Here he is in the summer of '09

I just never see enough of this guy. Nice brute you have there and that's an understatement. He is massive! Good to know my tegu isn't the only one who likes to take over furniture too. Did your tegu hibernate this year? I cannot wait until my tegu wakes up.

Stunning tegu! I hope my little guy will grow up as large as yours. The picture of him inside the couch was great.

Thanks for all the comments guys...

It's funny everyone loves the couch pic. He does that for an hour or more most nights of the week...

Look close at that couch pic... you'll notice his front legs are flat against his body pointing towards his tail... he just wedges his head in the coushins...

He is coming up on 3 yrs old (in July) meaning I've had him 3 winters. His first winter he went into full hibernation for 5 months... his second winter he brumated (slowed down alot) but only hibernated for a 3~6 weeks... this past winter he slowed down a good bit for a month or two, but has not hibernated at all...

very interesting... My tegu actually didn't hibernate until earlier this year. Before that she would just stay under for a couple of days and come back up. I have a feeling she will be up later this month.

haha, awesome. Does he have a name?

Thats Awesome! He looks well trained. Reminds me of my cat, buries himself in blankets and the couch.

I didn't know if I had a male or a female and I mistakenly guessed it to be a female. To help (my then) new girlfriend 'bond' with my abnormal pet, I let the girlfriend name "her".

...and she named "her" Delilah...

Since then "she" has proved to be a "he" but my girl still likes him being named Delilah. She still pretends Delilah is a girl...

It really doesn't bother me because regardless of his name, Delilah is all man... lol... But because of that, when talking to others, I just say "the Tegu".
