Thanks Ryan, you can really see the orange in that male, he's looking awesome! We'll have to get together for a coffee some day when we are both home & not working.

There are 3 or 4 of those males and the females are packing all of the time. Along with the moori they add a nice contrast to the tank. I love yellow and blue so I’m thrilled with how the tank is looking.

Thanks, I still have a mix of CA's etc. Just the African chapter of my fishkeeping has closed.
Hey RD. RD. can you share why you decided to part away from African cichlids?

I was thinking my next tank to be of peacocks.

Bringing up an old thread I know.
RD you had yourself a gorgeous setup of Africans. They're all beautiful fish but man that Rostratus takes the cake. An absolutely amazing looking fish. Very unique

I kept most Africans before I had a camera, like F rostratas, S fryer, and Enantiops.
But a few after that, if they became available (especially at aquarium auctions where I could pick up a bag full of 6 or more "cheap" and grow them out.
From Lake Natron (not technically one of the 3 well known lakes, but a rift lake no less.

Lepidiolamprologus elongatus

But one of my favorite lakes for cichlids is Barumbi mbo, not in the rift, but a crater lake no less
