There are manageable catfish from Central America, e.g., Rhamdia quelen, that are sometimes available in the trade.

Channel will grow to 3' or bigger, if talking for life, and will swallow most things that fit in its cavernous mouth.

Thank you all for the information, it has helped me to not purchase this fish. I am not setup or ready to give that size of fish a forever home.
The site that had it made it seem that it only got to 17in size. While still big I thought was doable in the 125. Beings how cats are scavengers and in so have a better turning radius than most fish, I thoughy that I may be able to get one.

One of our members in Texas had all the oscars in his pond eaten by a single channel cat
