olive nerites (snails)

go to Charleston, or anyware on the coast that has some brackish water and you usually find them on launching ramps, pilings etc,

i know that they are all in Charleston harbor, i saw plenty there.

they do well in fresh water tanks, they cannot successfully breed, but will lay eggs (unhatchable) one per 2 gallons is a good rule of thumb.

i would decrease photo period, also test your tank water and city water to see if you are putting excess amounts of nitrate and iron etc into the water.

anyone heard of using hydrogen peroxide as algae control? no personal experience yet, read about it on nanfa forum.

Might be good if you don't mind killing all your fish :(

i have a heavily planted tank......so I have some algae too, but it's not big deal to me. I might try to throw some snails in there in the future to control it though
