Algae-eating fish

When you scrub the algae off the glass during partial water changes, the scrubbed algae doesn't just go from the side to the water and turn it green when you add the new water? I mean, the algae has to go somewhere, right? It all just sticks to the scrubbing pad? Sorry to ask so many questions about algae and all.

yeah some stick to the scrubbing pad. but usually it gets in the water and will just float around, so i just use the python to suck out as much as possible. usually thats enough. i have to add that i do large water changes, which gives me plenty of time to vacuum out the loose algae. If you only do like 25% at one time, you may wanna scrub first, and then water change, so you can vacuum out the floating algae in the water.
