They get to a decent size too but not as large as a common pleco. Imo they are perfect for a large aggressive cichlid tank just due to their extra spikes/armour. Makes em a less desirable target then other plecos of the same size range. There are plenty of other cactus plecos that look nice too I just prefer the mono color myself.
